Firstly: Faithfulness to Allah almighty. Whoever wants to perform pray (Du'a) has to ensure that he is performing with a full faithfulness to Allah almighty only, with certainty that no one other than Allah can answer his supplications, so there would be no praying nor a begging to other than Allah almighty -irrespective of being a Prophet, pious worshiper, king, or a righteous man-. Allah S.W.T says: (So invoke Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, although the disbelievers dislike it) [Ghafir: 14]
